There are some directives for effective campaigning so let us discuss them-

- First and foremost you should never attack your opponent directly and let your substitute do it for you. If you do then this will create an image that you are not at all professional. There have been real instances where this has been proved.

- You should not delay in giving your opponents the response. If you didn’t then the chances are strong that you will lose.

- You should always target the people who usually don’t vote your party. You should focus on receiving the votes from the independent electors. You should always target the electors from the opposition party. Try and find out what are the factors they are unhappy about and then address them. This way you will successfully gather votes from the opposition also.

- Make sure that during your campaign you don’t discuss controversial topics because it will only make certain societies unhappy.

- Discussing and proving your opponent wrong will help you. If your opponent has not worked in some field like education, then you can raise the questions regarding the education which will help you.

- If you have done good and progressive work for the people then you should canvass about it and you will definitely get the benefit for it. It is a human nature that while casting the vote the people judge you on the work you have done for them.

- Make the best use of the electronic media and make sure that you campaign through the most famous channels on television. When you are campaigning through the famous channels then you can reach to extra people.

- If you are criticizing your opponent’s misdeeds then you can easily earn the benefit from it. Sometimes the people are only aware of all the good deeds of the candidate and they are not aware of all the misdeeds he/she has done. If you publicize the facts in front of the people then you can earn some crucial votes.

- Always remember one thing that the electors have emotional nature. If you anything that touches the emotions of the electors against your opponent then you should go ahead.
